No. This portal is an independent information service with no ticket sales of its own. You assemble the date, direction and vehicle here and send us the enquiry by e-mail; we reply with sailings and notes on fares. You then buy the ticket yourself from the ferry operator.

Ferry fares depend on date, time, vehicle size, number of passengers and fare type, and they change constantly. Rather than show possibly outdated figures, we hand you over to the official system with the current price.

Yes. Choose 'Return' in the form and enter both dates – we check both legs and point it out if a return fare works out cheaper.

Cancellations and changes go through Scandlines customer service or your booking account there. What is possible depends on the fare you booked.

The total length including trailer, bike rack or rear carrier, and the total height including roof box, air conditioning unit or superstructure. Minibuses and trucks also need the gross vehicle weight in tonnes.

The category is checked at check-in. If your vehicle differs, the difference is charged on the spot – and with a large discrepancy, boarding the sailing you wanted may not be possible.

Gas systems must be switched off during the crossing. The exact rules on the number and size of bottles are part of the Scandlines conditions of carriage.

Yes, both routes carry foot passengers and cyclists. There are separate ticket categories and a separate check-in area at the port.

Pets are allowed on both routes. Animals normally stay in the vehicle or may be walked on a lead in designated areas – the current rules are published by Scandlines. Entering Denmark requires an EU pet passport with a valid rabies vaccination.

Yes. Rostock–Gedser has a wider catering offer because of the longer crossing, while Puttgarden–Rødby focuses on the on-board shop and quick refreshments.

At the latest 15 minutes before departure; 30 to 45 minutes is recommended, and more with a motorhome, a trailer or in high season.

Germany and Denmark are both in the Schengen area, but spot checks take place. Carry an ID card or passport for every traveller.

Denmark uses the Danish krone. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, and euros are often taken on board and in the ports – change may be given in kroner.
