Cookies & consent
Cookie policy
This site gets by with very few cookies. Nothing used for measurement or advertising is set before you agree to it.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Related techniques include local storage and tracking pixels. They allow a device to be recognised on a later visit – for example to remember a setting or to measure whether an ad had an effect.
Cookies we use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| ferry_consent (local storage) | Essential | Stores your cookie decision so the banner does not reappear | up to 6 months |
| _ga, _ga_<ID> | Statistics | Google Analytics: distinguishes visitors pseudonymously and measures use of the site | up to 24 months |
| _gcl_au | Marketing | Google Ads: attributes a visit to an ad click (conversion measurement) | up to 90 days |
Essential storage happens without consent, because without it the function you asked for – remembering your choice – would not be possible. Statistics and marketing cookies are only set once you agree. As long as no measurement or advertising services are enabled on this site, no banner appears and only technically necessary data is processed.
Google Consent Mode v2
Google services start on this site in the “denied” state: before you agree, no cookies are set and no identifiers are transmitted. Only when you choose “Accept all” are the consent signals ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage set to “granted”. Your choice takes effect immediately and across the whole site.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Your decision can be reversed at any time, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting: use the “Cookie settings” button in the footer of any page. Withdrawal takes effect for the future; data already collected is not affected.
Deleting cookies in your browser
Independently of this website, you can delete cookies in your browser at any time or block them in general – in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge the setting is under “Settings → Privacy”. Note that blocking all cookies also prevents your cookie decision from being stored, so the banner will reappear on every visit.
Cookies on the ferry operator’s site
When you follow the booking button you leave this website. Any cookies set there are governed solely by that provider’s cookie and privacy policies – we have neither influence over them nor access to them.
Questions about cookies
Are cookies set if I ignore the banner?
No. Without active consent, statistics and marketing cookies stay disabled. The only thing stored is your decision itself, once you have made one.
Can I use the site without cookies?
Yes, completely. The planning form and all content work if you choose “Essential only”.
Do you sell data to third parties?
No. We do not sell data and do not pass it to third parties for our own advertising. Where consent is given, Google receives the data needed for measurement as a controller in its own right.
